California Avocado Commission Join the Big Game Conversation

cac_biggameadd_overhead_020516[3]The California Avocado Commission (CAC) playfully joined the big game conversation on Twitter by celebrating nine food and beverage companies and their big game advertisements in real time.

Every time a food or beverage ad ran during the game, California Avocados tweeted custom recipe videos that combined the advertised products with California Avocados using the hashtag #BigGameAdd.

How did Snickers and California Avocados pair? How did California Avocados work with Coca-Cola?

“We believe California Avocados are the greatest and most versatile fruit on the planet. Pairing them with awesome brands like Budweiser and Skittles proves how well they play with everyone,” said Margaret Keene, Executive Creative Director of MullenLowe LA. She thinks this is the perfect time to celebrate America’s favorite fruit on social. “Once we started playing around with recipes, we knew we had a breakthrough idea on our hands.”

Working with a California chef and food stylist, the recipe videos promise the stranger the combination, the more interesting the results.

The #BigGameAdd program was a way to give other brands valuable social media content for their audiences, but it was also an opportunity to build engagement and excitement for the upcoming California Avocado season.

These tasty videos were a first for MullenLowe LA, as they were all filmed, edited, and produced on location at Yeti, MullenLowe LA’s in-house production company.
